White spirit, also known as mineral turpentine or mineral spirits, is a type of petroleum-derived solvent composed of a mixture of aliphatic, aromatic, and naphthenic hydrocarbons. It is commonly used as a paint thinner, degreaser, an extraction solvent, as a cleaning solvent and as a solvent in aerosols, paints, wood preservatives, lacquers, varnishes, and asphalt products.
